Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions around scouting and our answers. We don’t pretend this is everything, if you have additional questions, please reach out to us at info@pack1110.com.

Lets get this over at the front. Scouting is not sports but we do have expenses that need to be covered. We try to cover those through dues for general expenses and event fees for the additional activities. Dues are annual.

  • Youth National Dues: $106 (subject to change and depending on when you register)
  • Youth Pack Dues: $80
  • Event Fees: Depends on the event but typically between $45 and $80 per person
  • Volunteer Fees: $78 for national the first year (if you become fully trained in your position, we will cover subsequent renewals)
    • This covers background check and insurance expenses

We participate in the national Scouting America popcorn fundraiser each fall. We use those proceeds to keep everyone’s dues as low as possible while still providing a quality program for the youth.

Pack 1110 meets once a month as a pack, once a month we have den meetings, and once a month our committee meets (without the scouts). We also try to have one camping event and one overnight event per semester.

Our meeting schedule typically i as follows unless we need to move them around. All happen at the VFW Post 9182 in Katy, TX.

  • Committee Meetings
    • First Tuesday
  • Pack Meetings
    • Second Monday
  • Den Meetings
    • Fourth Tuesday

Scouting is a uniformed body and scouts will need to have some type of uniform when participating in scout events. We have a few options available though.

  • Class B Uniform
    • $25
    • This is our pack t-shirt and can be worn by scouts until they get a class A uniform but is our standard uniform for camping and outdoor activities
  • New Class A Uniform
    • About $80 for shirt, belt and neckerchief.
      • The Blue top is for Tiger though Webelos (but kids grow so buy big or buy multiple times.)
      • Webelos, AOL, Scouts BSA, and Adult Leaders all wear the khaki top
  • Uniform Bank Available
    • Our district offers a uniform bank so that scouts can use uniforms that scouts have outgrown over the years. Since the kids grow so fast, they are in great shape.

Our pack understands that everyone has busy seasons and has to make priorities. You can drop in and out of scouting as time allows and even use the handbook to stay on track when you can’t make a meeting. Or just come to have fun. The kids learn a ton of life lessons and make great friends while learning everything scouting has to offer.
